Abstract The increasing demand for contactless and natural human-computer interaction has intensified research in real-time conversational artificial intelligence systems. Speech-driven virtual assistants enable seamless hands-free control across diverse application domains, including healthcare, smart environments,
automotive systems, and assistive technologies. This paper presents the design and implementation of a real-time speech-to-text conversational framework that integrates streaming Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), contextual Natural Language Understanding (NLU), dialogue state tracking, and neural Text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis. The proposed architecture emphasizes low-latency inference, optimized model deployment, and contextual continuity in multi-turn conversations. Experimental evaluation demonstrates significant improvements in Word Error Rate (WER), intent detection accuracy, and response latency
compared to conventional cloud-dependent systems. The proposed system contributes toward scalable, privacy-aware, and efficient hands-free virtual assistance platforms.
