| Abstract | Critical care environments generate vast amounts of patient data that require rapid interpretation and timely clinical decision-making. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology capable of analyzing complex clinical information, predicting patient deterioration, supporting diagnosis, and enhancing decision-making processes in intensive care units (ICUs). Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) integrated with AI provide real-time recommendations, alerts, and predictive insights that assist healthcare professionals in delivering safe and effective care. Critical care nurses, as frontline healthcare providers, play a pivotal role in utilizing these technologies to improve patient outcomes. This review explores the applications of AI and clinical decision support systems in critical care nursing, their benefits, challenges, ethical considerations, and future implications for nursing practice. |
