Enhancing Contactless Transaction Security: A Lightweight Authentication Approach

Author(s) Abhigyan Mukherjee
Country United States
Abstract As the use of contactless transactions increases, it also brings new security challenges for data against unauthorized access and fraud. This study proposes a new realistic authentication framework for enhancing the security of near field communication (NFC) transactions. The relay attack and skimming attack are prevented by using a lightweight cryptographic approach in this system. Analysis in tests shows better authentication reliability and better resistance to usual attack vectors. This study contributes to the development of more secure and scalable contactless payment systems.
Keywords Near Field Communication (NFC), lightweight authentication, contactless transaction security, replay attack prevention, mutual authentication, embedded systems, and cryptographic verification.
