| Abstract | The rapid growth of consumer demand in discrete manufacturing industries has placed immense pressure on production planning systems to maximize capacity utilization while minimizing operational waste. This paper examines five strategic approaches to optimize capacity utilization in high-volume manufacturing networks: Integrated Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Digital Twin-Enabled Production Scheduling, Constraint-Based Resource Allocation, Dynamic Bill of Materials (BOM) Management, and Predictive Maintenance Integration. Through case studies, pseudo-code implementations, and operations research techniques, this paper provides a comprehensive framework for manufacturers to achieve higher throughput with existing infrastructure, reducing capital expenditure requirements by up to 18%. |
