| Abstract | Differential calculus is one of the fundamental branches of mathematics used to study change and variation. It provides a systematic method for measuring how one quantity changes with respect to another. Although differentiation is introduced as a mathematical operation, its applications extend to many real-life fields such as physics, economics, engineering, biology, population studies, business, and geometry. The present study examines the applications of differential calculus through theoretical explanations and simple numerical examples. Particular attention is given to the derivative as a rate of change, velocity and acceleration in motion, marginal cost in economics, optimization problems, population growth, and engineering applications. The study also explains the role of first and second derivatives in determining maximum and minimum values. A mathematical and analytical approach is used to demonstrate how real-life situations can be represented through mathematical functions and analyzed using derivatives. The findings show that differential calculus provides an effective tool for understanding changing quantities and making mathematical decisions in practical situations. |
